Finding the best agent for your situation can be extremely time consuming and filled with uncertainty. However, it's CRUCIAL that you find a very experienced, knowledgeable agent. But, how do you know where to start?

I offer a service recommending very experienced, knowledgeable local agents to buyers and sellers.

 (If you are currently working with an agent, this is not meant to interfere with that relationship. This is a service for buyers and sellers who don't currently have an agent.)

 A few years ago, I spent some time researching agents in San Diego in order to find a Realtor® to work with my son and his wife as they bought a new home. I found names of lots of agents but making a choice as to who would be best was extremely difficult even though I am an licensed agent.

I can offer you an advantage here that I didn't have in San Diego. I can help YOU find some local agents here who I know from my own personal experience have excellent local track records.

Do I get paid? Yes, but NOT from you. It is a typical practice in real estate companies to pay professional referral fees at close of escrow to other Realtors® when they refer business to them.

I sold real estate here very successfully for 15 years until 2001. Now I work as a real estate consultant and focus also on my service helping buyers and sellers find local agents. I'm no longer selling real estate, but I continue to follow the local market closely. I write a monthly real estate market update that a number of local real estate agents subscribe to.

I've watched many local agents conduct their sales business here over the years. I know the greater Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Danville, and Alamo local areas well and I know many of the best agents who work in those areas. I saw how they worked, their level of professionalism and was aware of their local track records. I also have access via our MLS to current sales records so I know who is working in various areas.

Would you like some help finding an agent?

Once I know where you want to buy or sell, what your price range is, and a little about your specific needs,  I will be glad to provide you with the names of three local agents who are very experienced in your area or the areas you want. They will be from the local real estates companies in our immediate area. Then I recommend you contact them for an interview and verify their qualifications to your satisfaction.

Please contact me and I will get back to you immediately with some names. Obviously, I can't guarantee their future performance but I would expect you would be very pleased with any of the agents I might recommend to you. They will have a proven track record of success in the area.

Why not just pick any agent you meet?

Your agent will be responsible for assisting you with a myriad of details throughout the transaction. Your agent serves three main important roles for you: (1) trusted advisor, (2) experienced negotiator and (3) expert facilitator. What your agent KNOWS is invaluable to you as you buy and/or sell a home. Anyone can put an ad in a newspaper, put up a sign for an open house or drive you around to see new homes.  However, only an experienced, successful agent KNOWS from experience what you really need to know about buying or selling a home and may suggest how to prevent mistakes that could cost you thousands of dollars or result in losing your dream house.

What criteria do I use to select an agent for you?

Agent's Experience in Local Real Estate Sales I only give out names of very experienced agents with at least 10 years or more of experience. Many agents I recommend will have 15-20 years or more of  experience or more.

The Geographic Areas Where They Usually Work I am a member of the Contra Costa Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service. I can readily check sales records for any area covered by our Board or Realtors®.

Agent's Competence with Internet and E-mail skills

The agents I select will be from any of the other local companies, depending on your requirements. I will even provide you with suggested interview questions, if requested.

Need a real estate agent in another part of California or in another part of the country? 

I can help you there, also. I have directories of experienced agents country-wide who are Certified Residential Specialists (CRS's). What's a CRS? See their web site. I would research their experience and qualifications. I might also call them to interview them myself in some instances. After I determine who might be, in my opinion, the best agents to interview, I would turn the names over to you to verify their credentials and make the final selection yourself.
