Burton Valley ranks very high in popularity in Lafayette. Burton Valley Elementary School is the center of the neighborhood and especially interests buyers with young children. Much of the area is flat and children can enjoy riding to school on their bikes. Many of the lots are large and flat. Most of the homes were built in the 50's and 60's and the majority are single-story ranch style homes. Most homes are nicely maintained and many have been extensively remodeled. Others are in original condition and often turn over when  original owners retire and move out of the area.

Nearby you'll find a swim and tennis club, another swim club, Lafayette's newest park,  the Lafayette Community center with classes for all ages and near the 7.3 miles Lafayette/Moraga Trail.
