Many of these homes date back to the 1930’s up to the 1960’s. The majority seem to have been built in the 1940’s. Many homes are small (1100 to 1400 sq. ft.) and are situated on smaller lots.

Since most of the area adjoins the downtown Lafayette business section, the location is ideal for commuters and people who like to walk to town. Lafayette Elementary School and Stanley Intermediate School are a close walking distance.

This area has seen a rebirth in recent years. Many new owners have moved in and renovated the existing homes into quite charming, small, traditionally styled homes. Properties in this area are much in demand because they continue to be more affordable and the location is thought to be excellent because of its close-to-town location.
