Mt. Diablo
stands to the east of Lamorinda. The Indians called it Mt. Diablo (Devil Mountain)
because of all the varying cloud formations that centered around the
mountain at different times. This picture is from Moraga, looking across
Moraga and Lafayette to Walnut Creek and Mt. Diablo in the
distance.

three communities known together as LAMORINDA are
a close commute to San
Francisco and the Diablo Valley adjoining Walnut Creek. Lamorinda is located through the
Caldecott Tunnel in the Oakland Hills. The first town through the tunnel
is Orinda, Moraga is 4 miles south and Lafayette next door to the east.
In the winter and spring, our hills are a vibrant, lush green. In the
summer, they illustrate California's name as the "Golden
State." You'll see our rolling golden hills studded with native
California oaks and lots of grazing cattle.
We may be biased but so many
people here find Lamorinda as one of the nicest places they've ever
lived. The small town, uncongested feeling, the lovely countryside,
close to everything, top schools, great weather, yes, we think Lamorinda is quite
special. Each time I return home from vacation I'm reminded of how
wonderful this area really is.
Is there a nicer area in the world to live with a family? For my tastes, I doubt it.
We hope you'll have an opportunity to enjoy it here also!
