Moraga CA Real Estate:

(Back to beginning Moraga Page)

Moraga/Lafayette Trail This recreational trail is 7.2 miles in length and runs through Moraga and through Lafayette and ends up at the westerly border of Walnut Creek. You can see walkers, joggers, bike riders and even some horse riders during the day. Most of the trail is flat with only a few inclines. Much of the trail is along lovely pastoral areas. You can see the cattle grazing and the peaceful rolling hills.  The trail runs right past the Moraga Commons Park. This trail gets lots of use by all ages, young and old. There is also a par course along the trail. The trail follows an old railroad right-of-way.

The Hacienda de los Flores This is the former 10 acre estate of Donald Rheem, who turned the 2-story Spanish style house and grounds into a show place back in the 40's.  The estate was later bought by the town of Moraga and serves as the town's Recreation Department Center and the site of many lovely weddings. Classes are held here for all ages. The beautiful grounds include at nature trail and botanical garden. The Hacienda was designated as a California historical landmark in 1985.

Moraga Center and The Park at Rheem

Moraga doesn’t have a downtown street like many larger cities. Instead Moraga has two shopping centers: the Moraga Center and The Park at Rheem that serve the community. Each center has one or more grocery stores and many other smaller shops and restaurants. Notice the beautiful valley setting to the left. The Moraga Center is shown above.

Moraga Center is a Spanish style, tiled roof complex. Moraga Hardware is shown.        Perfect for weekend handyman projects.

The Center also has 5 restaurants.

Across the street from the Center You'll find some of Moraga's early buildings. There's a restaurant, an antique shop and produce stand.
