Orinda Community Center: The Orinda Community Center provides classroom space for classes for all ages and next to the Center is a large park with 2 children’s play areas, tennis courts, large grass area, parcourse, barbecue area, kindergym and small amphitheater. The Center was originally Orinda School built back in 1925. A new community center is currently under construction to the right of the current building. The Community Park is just next door to the left.

This is the site of the popular Tuesday night concerts during the summer featuring local groups.

There's large play area for children and at the far end of the grass area are public tennis courts. On the 4th of July, expect a pancake breakfast and a big Parade through Orinda. Then there's lots of activities planned at the popular park and Orindans have a great 4th.

Orinda BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the last stop before the Caldecott Tunnel on the way to Oakland and San Francisco. Expect the trip to SF to take about 30 minutes, however, parking can be the problem so take the early trains in order to get a parking space.

A reserve lot opens at 10 o'clock so shoppers have a chance at a few parking places.

The Bay Area's Natural Air Conditioning: Orindans and Moragans often enjoy the cooling effects of the occasional summer evening fog that flows over the Oakland hills in spectacular fogs displays. The fog banks curl over the hills making the appearance of gigantic cascading falls of fog. The fog brings a welcome respite from the few unusually hot days. This cooling effect usually keeps Orinda and Moraga at least 5 degrees cooler than neighboring Lafayette or even 10 degrees or more cooler than Walnut Creek and the Diablo Valley on many days. We love the natural air-conditioning system here!

In conclusion: Orindans love it here: prestigious address, great schools, small community feeling, beautiful surroundings!
