Rancho Paraiso has become one of the most desirable areas in Walnut Creek and the East Bay. Harold Smith Construction, the primary builder here,  began construction at Rancho Paraiso in the early 1990's and has recently completed construction there.  Smith has a long standing reputation in Contra Costa County for quality construction. There are also other builders who were involved in developing some of the area here and adjoining subdivisions.

The neighborhoods are  beautifully maintained. Many owners are executives who to San Francisco via the Pleasant Hill or Walnut Creek BART stations. Rancho Paraiso is beginning to look particularly lovely because after about 10 years, the landscaping is beginning to mature and it doesn't look as bare as some of the newer neighboring subdivisions.
